40s 2023 Senior Rules

6/15/2023 thru 12/31/2023

Rules subject to change based on player and our game's needs.

NCS Player Classifications will be used 1st. If a player is not classed by NCS we will use the highest classification found using ssusa, utrip, nsa, spa. Up to 5 year look back. Player Classifications are fluid. Changes made by regional director can be made at any time. (Mistakes are made, decisions may be made the moment the mistake is found)

Team classification process- In division record counts towards being bumped up or down. We will use winning percentage with a minimum of 4 events or 6 months, whichever comes first to determine Bumping teams up or down.

A winning percentage of 65% or higher will result in being bumped.

A losing percentage of 35% or lower could result in being bumped down.

Again, 4 events or 6 months will be the evaluation time.

*if a team brings more than the allowed bumps to a tourney, this can result in games forfeited and/or players removed from event.

*director reserves the right to bump any team up or down at ANY time, before, during, or after any event.

No new team will be allowed to start at AA. At a minimum, teams must start at AAA lower.

50s Teams playing 40s will be a case by case basis.

1&1 No Courtesy

Pitch height 6ft to 10ft

50min games plus buffet

Clock showing less than a min, we will not go to a new inning.

3 pinch runners per inning

Pinch runner may run multiple times in the same inning.

Pinch runner can not be subbed for.

Pitching Screens are optional

Screens are provided by director

Decision to use screen or not is made at coin flip. Only when a pitching change is made, a team pull the screen or add the screen during the game. This may only happen 1 time only during the game and must be made during pitching change only.

Pitcher using the screen has to toe the rubber. Cannot move screen after inning starts. Screen has to be clearly touching rubber.

Pitcher CANNOT field any ground balls or linedrives. They can however field obvious pop flies.

If a pitcher touches a ground ball or linedrive on purpose or not, all runners move up 1 base and batter goes to first.

Pitcher not using the screen. Pitcher must wear protective head gear. Pitcher may use second rubber.

Pitcher must present the ball, make one fluid motion back and forth and release ball. Zero pump faking, deception, hiding the ball, hesitation, etc... any deviation will result with umpire calling a ball.

Pitcher has 5 seconds to pitch once the batter has entered the box. Not doing so, can result in a ball.

(6 event minimum)

Players will be classed based on individual abilities. Appeals must go through director, and approved by regional director.

All things are considered when classing players.... team played with, age, ability, position played, etc...

The teams a player has played on is a huge factor in classing players.

Players may not play with two teams with in same age division tourney regardless of classification. NO TEAM JUMPING

You check in with one team and must play with that one team all day.

I.e. Major players playing as a bump on a AAA team must play on that AAA team All day and cannot play on a major team. Same goes for all divisions.

* Only exception may be benefit tourneys.

If there is a 50s and a separate 40s tournament being played at the same complex, players may play both.

If a team is found to have a player who has played with another team that same day, director will make call on discipline for player and team. (Know who is in your dugout)

Underage players. Any team caught using an underage player will be suspended. (Minimum 6 events)
