Protest Rules & Procedures

  1. Timing of Protests

    • Any protest regarding the eligibility of a player must be filed before the player’s second turn at-bat.

    • Failure to protest by this time constitutes acceptance of the opposing team and their players.

  2. Protest Submission Process

    • A non-refundable protest fee of $100 per player must be submitted to the home plate umpire.

    • Along with the fee, provide a written explanation that includes the player's name and the reason for the protest.

  3. Investigation Process

    • Upon receipt, the home plate umpire will notify the on-site director to initiate the investigation.

    • The game and clock will be stopped while the protest is reviewed and resolved.

  4. Proof of Eligibility

    • Age-Based Eligibility (Rule 1.01A):

      • Players in 5U–18U divisions must have a photocopy of their original birth certificate with the team manager.

      • Failure to present this document upon request will result in the team forfeiting the game(s) and being ejected from the tournament.

    • Grade-Based Eligibility (Rule 1.01B):

      • Grade-based players must provide one of the following:

        • A photocopy of their birth certificate

        • A current report card

        • An official school ID with the grade stated

        • An official government document verifying the grade

      • Home-schooled players unable to provide a report card must participate in their age division.

No protests will be accepted without a $100 protest fee paid to the tournament director. If the protest is successful, the $100 protest fee will be refunded. If the protest is unsuccessful, the fee will NOT be refunded. You must make a protest immediately if it is concerning a rule. Once play has continued, no rule protest will be accepted. Judgement calls are umpire discretion and cannot be protested. Once the game is complete, no protests will be accepted. All roster protests must occur during the game in which the player in question is participating.
