This tournament is OPEN to all teams, winners of the qualifiers get paid entry fees.

$395 Entry Fee

$950 team gate fee (covers players, coaches, and spectators for all 4 days.) NO daily gate fees will be charged at the event and hotel buyout for teams registered after June 7,2026 is included in fee   

This is a Stay-to-Play event. At least 7 of your kids must go through this site to qualify. All teams have the opportunity to opt out with a $500 buyout fee. Buyout fee can be paid by Venmo to @pinetarsouth (make sure you do not put any dashes or underscores in the Venmo name - we have scammers!)

5 Game Guarantee

Skills Contest on Thursday starting at noon.

Pool Play Thursday Evening, Friday & Saturday. 

Bracket Play Saturday & Sunday


This event is pay at the plate

Coach Pitch $45

9-12u is $60

13-14u is $65

High School is $80.


Pin Trading Info 

We will do pin trading during skills contest and pool games on Thursday evening.  

It will be a come and go format where you will be allowed to drop five pins off and select five pens, etc.. You may also interact with other teams and swap that way.


Moms Home Run Derby Rules


Participants

  • Each mom must pay $10 to enter
  • Teams must provide their own pitcher and baseballs.

Format

  • Each participant will have 1 minute to hit as many home runs as possible.
  • The timer begins when the first pitch is thrown.
  • There is no limit on the number of pitches during the 1-minute round.

Home Runs

  • A home run is any fair ball that travels approximately 150 feet in the air.

Approved Bats
Participants may use any baseball or softball bat bearing one of the following certifications:

  • USA Softball
  • USSSA
  • USA Baseball

7-12 outs - 1 calendar day rest required

12+ outs - 2 calendar days rest required

TEAM REQUIREMENTS


All teams must:

  • Be registered and sanctioned with NCS for the current 2024-2025 season.
  • Upload and submit a copy of team insurance.
  • Complete and update online player rosters.
  • Submit entry fee payment by the Monday before the tournament date.
  • All Pine Tar Sports tournaments are FIRST PAY/FIRST PLAY. Your entry into an event is not complete until you have paid the entry fee and/or the gate fee, regardless of whether you have registered for the tournament. The division may sell out (and oftentimes does) prior to the payment deadline. The number of available spots in any given division may fluctuate.




WEATHER CANCELLATIONS


  • 0 games started: 100% credit.
  • 1 game started: 50% credit.
  • 2 games started: No credit.



REFUND / CREDIT POLICY


  • Teams withdrawing by Sunday (prior to the event start date): 100% credit.
  • Teams withdrawing after Sunday but by 12 PM on Monday: 50% credit.
  • Teams withdrawing after 12 PM on Monday: No credit or refund.
  • Teams in divisions that do not make: 100% credit.
  • Credit card processing fees: Non-refundable.
  • Credits can only be used toward another Pine Tar tournament.

  • Entry fee payment deadline: Monday before event date.

GAME TIME LIMITS


  • Coach Pitch Games55m Pool / 65m Bracket
  • 9U-14U Games: 1h 25m Pool / 1h 30m Bracket
  • 15U-16U Games: 1h 45m Pool & Bracket




Game Scheduling:

  • Teams must be available to play Thursday 8:00 AM - Sunday 10:00 PM.
  • Be ready to play 15 minutes before scheduled time.
  • Game clock starts after the plate meeting.
  • No 5-minute grace period.
  • Games must run the full time limit unless 6-7 innings are complete or run-ruled.



PRIZES & AWARDS


  • Gold Division Champions: 12 Championship Rings
  • Silver Division Finalists: 12 Finalist Rings
  • MVP Awards: One per team in the championship game
  • Championship Banners for Gold and Silver divisions



VENUE RESTRICTIONS


  • No metal cleats on portable pitching mounds or turf surfaces.
  • No food/drinks on turf playing fields, dugouts, or pitching mounds.



OFFICIAL LINE-UP / SCORECARD


  • Must be completed and turned in to the Home Plate Umpire before each game.
  • All participating players must be listed on the official lineup.
  • Late-arriving players must be listed before they can play.



TIE GAME RULES


  • Pool Play: Game ends in a tie once time expires.
  • Bracket & Championship Games: Loaded bases, last 3 batters on, 1 out, count 0-0.




MERCY RUN RULES


  • 20 after 1 inning or 2
  • 15 runs after 3 innings
  • 10 runs after 4 innings
  • 8 runs after 5 innings



HOME TEAM DETERMINATION


  • Pool Play: Coin Flip
  • Bracket Play & Championship Games: Higher Seed Chooses Home/Visitor



PROTESTS

  • All protests will require a $100 protest fee. This includes roster protests. If you win the protest, your $100 will be refunded. If your protest is unsuccessful, you will forfeit the $100.
